GMRS Radio License Process

The GMRS license process is:

1. Setup and confirm a CORES account with the FCC.

2. Sign into CORES and register a new FRN. It will be issued immediately on screen so write it down.

3. Use the newly issued FRN and CORES password to log in to the ULS.

4. Apply for a new license, ZA General Mobile Radio Service, in this case.

5. Sign back into CORES to pay the fee. > Bills and Fees > ULS Pay Fees etc.

6. Check back with the ULS for license authorization status. It took three days for my license to be approved.
