January – Communication & Planning
Scripture: D&C 38:30 – “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.”
Week 1: Create or update your family emergency contact list.
Week 2: Review how your family would communicate if phones were down.
Week 3: Print and post ward and community emergency numbers.
Week 4: Share a preparedness quote from a Church leader.
February – 72-Hour Kits
Scripture: Mosiah 4:27 – “It is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength.”
Week 1: Start or refresh your 72-hour kit checklist.
Week 2: Focus on food and water storage in your kit.
Week 3: Add copies of important documents to your kit.
Week 4: Family activity: gather and check your kits together.
March – First Aid & Health
Scripture: Alma 37:6 – “By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.”
Week 1: Inventory your first aid supplies.
Week 2: Learn basic CPR or wound care skills.
Week 3: Share a healthy living or emergency hygiene tip.
Week 4: Ward challenge: assemble mini first aid kits for cars.
April – Financial Preparedness
Scripture: Proverbs 21:20 – “There is treasure to be desired… in the dwelling of the wise.”
Week 1: Review your family budget.
Week 2: Build a small emergency savings fund.
Week 3: Discuss financial preparedness as a family.
Week 4: Share a Church resource on self-reliance or budgeting.
May – Water Preparedness
Scripture: Isaiah 12:3 – “With joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”
Week 1: Learn how to store and purify water.
Week 2: Check your current water supply for freshness.
Week 3: Practice using a water filter or purification tablets.
Week 4: Post about creative water storage ideas.
June – Food Storage

Week 1: Take inventory of your pantry and food storage.

July – Home & Fire Safety

August – Neighborhood Preparedness

Week 1: Learn who your block captains or emergency leaders are.
Week 2: Meet your neighbors and exchange contact info.
Week 3: Organize or share a neighborhood drill idea.
Week 4: Post about unity and service in emergencies.
September – National Preparedness Month

Week 1: Review your entire family preparedness plan.
